Some of his illustrative advertising photography clients were Arctic Cat, Suzuki Motor Corporation, Hawaiian Power Boats, STP, The U.S. Auto Club, the United States Air Force Thunderbirds, the United States Army Golden Knights Sky Diving Team and Marlboro. In the glamourous world of cosmetics and fashion photography, Acrey's list of clientele has included: Hanes, Calgon, Chanel No.5, Revlon, Danskin, Charlie, Johnson & Johnson, and Alfa-Keri. Editorial photography included: GLAMOUR, VOGUE. TOWN & COUNTRY, PLAYBOY and COSMOPOLITAN. Movie stills include: "A Star Is Born" starring Barbara Streisand and Kris Kristofferson and "The Tracker", an HBO production starring Kris Kristofferson. In 1971, while photographing an advertising layout in Dillon, Colorado, Acrey was mesmerized by the Rocky Mountains. He returned to the Midwest just long enough to sell his illustrative advertising photography business before moving to Colorado. There he began creating fine art photographic images of Western landscapes and wildlife. Soon his fine art photographic works were exhibited in galleries across the West, while juried shows brought Acrey well over one hundred awards. In 1978, Jack established Acrey's Photographic Expeditions & Workshops to take amateur, as well as other professional photographers along on his photographic trips so that he could teach them his award-winning techniques. He currently offers expeditions and workshops in the most beautiful locations in the American West. Acrey's Photographic Expeditions are designed for the discriminating adventure photographer's personal artistic exploration and development. During the period from 1987 to 1999, Acrey opened and operated three galleries devoted exclusively to his fine art photography: Acrey's Gallery of Fine Art Photography in Cortez, Colorado; Acrey's Gallery in Sedona, Arizona; and Acrey's Gallery of Fine Art Photography In Santa Fe, New Mexico. In 1999 Jack decided to devote all his time and energy to his artistic vision. He has immersed himself in his art and continues to pioneer a fresh vision in his new works. For the past 43 years, Acrey's works have continued to take fine art photography to new heights with his exceptional archival techniques and unique, larger-than-the-West image presentations from 35mm, medium and large-format cameras in both black & white and color. His fine art photographic images are in homes, businesses and private/corporate collections in every state in the United States and sixteen countries. Certainly, Acrey's striking visual images will be enjoyed by fine art lovers for generations to come. |
